Almost everyone. Of course, we are talking about Netflix. Netflix has truly ushered in a new era in how people consume video entertainment, prompting many other companies to try and jump on the bandwagon.
Although at one time many media groups were happy to fill their libraries with Netflix, these entities quickly realized that they could keep all their money for themselves. Fast forward to today, and we have services like Disneyplus begin code and HBO Max, which serve to highlight content produced by Disney and AT&T-Time Warner, respectively.
However, with more services, comes more confusion. Which one is right for you? Which one should you subscribe to to get the most bang for your buck? Today we’re going to take a look at the good and bad of both Disney+ and HBO Max, then tell you what we believe will give you the best entertainment possible.

What’s the Difference Between Disney+ and HBO Max?
Disney+, to its credit, doesn’t try to promise you the world. It’s not saying, “We’ll have all the TV shows and all the movies.” To be blunt, what Disney+ offers is right in the name. It’s a portal to all things Disney, which is actually pretty much all these days – Disney owns Marvel Studios and Star Wars, among other things. If you enjoy Disneyplus.com/begin properties and shows you can watch on the Disney Channel, you’ll be more than happy with what Disney+ has to offer.
HBO Max, on the other hand, is trying to do a little bit of everything. It features past seasons of hit TV shows, blockbuster movies spanning decades, and award-winning original shows. In terms of its movie selection, HBO Max is always rolling out new content as well, so what’s not in the lineup one week may show up in the next week. It seems the mission of HBO Max doesn’t exist as a supplement to your typical media diet, but to be the main course. If you want a service that checks several boxes for you instead of a few, HBO Max can potentially do that.

Both of these services are all about on-demand content, which means you can start and stop movies in the catalog whenever you want. Neither is live TV streaming.
At the time of this writing, there’s another big difference between Disney+ and HBO Max, and that’s what devices you can use them with. Unfortunately, HBO Max’s app looks quite different right now: It doesn’t work on Roku or Fire TV.
What can you watch on Disney+ vs HBO Max?
Do you want to shock yourself completely? Sit down for a moment and try to list every property owned by Disney. For example, you can start with animated movies, including Toy Story, The Lion King, etc. Oh, but Disneyplus.com/begin also has Marvel Studios! Attack the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and all of its movies. And then there’s Star Wars, so go ahead and list every Star Wars movie and TV series. That’s enough already, isn’t it? And not only that. This is the flavor of the kind of content you can expect from Disney plus. This is why Disney+ exists.
Meanwhile, HBO Max is little more than a mixed bag. It’s HBO, so of course you can expect movies – HBO stands for “Home Box Office.” Movies go from “too old” to “last summer’s blockbusters.” There are also TV shows that once appeared on other networks but now stream on HBO Max, thanks to the service that’s getting some deals. And you’ve probably heard of shows like Game of Thrones, Westworld, and Big Little Lies, right? They belong to HBO, and HBO Max has them all.
How much would you spend on Disney Plus vs HBO Max?
Disney Plus is almost absurdly cheap at the moment, even after its price has been raised to a dollar. The monthly subscription fee for all Disney Plus content is only $7.99. If you want the additional content provided by Disney Plus, you can bundle the service with Hulu and ESPN Plus for a total of $13.99 per month. It’s not a bad price, and it’s still cheaper than HBO Max’s standard plan.
However, HBO Max doesn’t have to be knocked over. The service clearly sees itself as premium. For its first year, HBO Max only had one tier — a $14.99-per-month option that gives you everything HBO Max has to offer. It’s more than twice the price of Disney Plus, but you could argue that HBO Max offers more variety.
HBO Max has now unveiled another option. As of June 2021, there’s a more basic plan that costs $9.99 per month – a 33 percent discount compared to the standard plan. However, there are some caveats, and the biggest one is that the cheaper plan includes ads. There aren’t a ton of them; HBO promises that you won’t have to watch commercials for more than four minutes of content per hour. If you choose the cheaper plan, you can’t watch the same-day premieres of movies like “The Suicide Squad” and “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” If you want to stream HBO Max in 4K, you’ll need to spring for the $14.99 plan.
Disney+ vs HBO Max: Which Should You Choose?
Disney Plus has some of the biggest superhero and sci-fi franchises on the planet. But if you have no desire to watch “Iron Man” or “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (or if you’re more of a DC fan), you’ve immediately cut off much of the appeal of Disneyplus.com login/begin. To all the people Chances are, if you don’t enjoy movies like this, you’ll have a hard time finding something you want to watch on Disney Plus.
However, HBO Max has something for everyone. You might have no desire to see a certain movie or TV show in its lineup, but chances are you’ll be able to find something else that speaks to you. It won’t be just that.
Disneyplus Begin code wins this competition on price, but you have to ask yourself whether it’s worth paying more for a better shot at finding something interesting. We believe the answer is yes. At $14.99 per month for its top plan, HBO Max isn’t the cheapest streaming video service. When stacked next to Disney Plus, we think it’ll give you a better and more consistent entertainment experience. We also like that HBO Max now has a cheaper plan with commercials, as it gives you more options.
