Compared to other countries, Disney+ customers in the US have had a rough time with streaming errors and app-breaking bugs. As good as this is for some, many early customers have reported serious issues that render the app unusable.
While the Disneyplus.com/Begin dev team is undoubtedly tackling every bug, we’re here to provide additional help with our guide on the app’s various error reports.
Before we dig into the various error codes being reported by Disney+ users, we need to cover the basics of technical troubleshooting (sorry, but it has to be done). These are the steps you should try no matter what error code you are receiving.
If you’re having trouble connecting to Disney+, follow these basic steps.
General Disney+ Troubleshooting Tips
Check your internet download speed from the device you are using (if it is slower than 5 Mbps, that could be your problem).
Disconnect your mobile or Wi-Fi Internet connection from the device you are using, wait for 30 to 60 seconds, and reconnect. Sometimes you just need to refresh your connection.
Reset your Wi-Fi modem.
Sign out of Disneyplus.com/Begin on all devices and sign in again.
Delete the Disney+ app, re-download it from your device’s App Store, and log in again.
Try Disney+ on a different compatible device or web browser.
Checking Status:-
Like any streaming app, the best way to check the status is on the official website. That site is the Help Center for Disney+. A really quick way to find out if Disney+ is closed to everyone is to have a quick chat with tech support. Just look at the chat button at the bottom of the screen and ask the technician if the service is turned off. They can also help you troubleshoot any other problems.

Disney+ Error 83

Error 83 is one of the biggest issues plaguing customers. If you are seeing this message, it means that there is a device compatibility issue. Essentially, Disney+ isn’t cooperating with the particular device you’re trying to watch the content on.
This may sound frustrating because if your device is incompatible with Disney+, how did you download the app in the first place? Well, there are a few other factors that can affect device compatibility.
The first thing to try, and we hate to say it, is to turn off your device over and over again. As weary as that advice is, you don’t know how often a simple power cycle is an answer to all your technical woes.
Next, check that your device is indeed compatible with the service, just to be sure.
If you have tried those steps, then the next step is to check if your firmware is up to date on the device you are using.
This shouldn’t affect most new devices, but if you’re running an especially older iOS or Android operating system, for example, Disney+ may reject your device. So make sure you update your iOS or Android to the most current version before trying to run the app again.
If you’re trying to watch on another device like a Smart TV, PlayStation, or Xbox, you’ll find software update guides on the manufacturer’s websites. That said, you’ll almost always find software updates buried in the “System,” “About,” or “General” menus in any Internet-connected device. You’ll see a little notification indicator if a firmware update is ready to be installed/downloaded (like when you get a new message or email).
If all else fails and you’re desperate to stream Disney+, try logging into another device. As frustrating as it sounds, a device compatibility issue like error 83 means that the app has a problem with the specific device you’re using, so switching to a computer, gaming console, or smart TV should yield a different result.

Check that your device is compatible with Disney+.
Navigate to your device’s firmware settings page and check for updates.
Try deleting and reinstalling the Disney+ app from your device’s app store (such as Google Play or the App Store).

Disney+ Error 42

Another common error code that Disney+ is spitting out is error 42. In a brutal twist, no one seems to be able to find a solution to the error code that shares the same two digits as the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and all.
Error 42 indicates a problem connecting to your Disney+ service. It could be a server error on Disney’s end or it could be a problem with your Internet connection.
If it’s a problem with Disney’s servers, it’s possible that Disney+ is struggling to keep up with the demand for everyone streaming at once. This kind of problem usually occurs during times of peak use (for example when a new episode of The Mandalorian drops), and unfortunately, there is no immediate solution other than waiting it out.
This problem will not last forever. Disney is working on strengthening its servers to meet the demands of hungry Star Wars and Marvel fans around the world, but that could take time.
The other possibility is that your Internet connection isn’t strong enough to stream Disney+. This is especially relevant if you’re trying to stream in 4K (which uses more bandwidth and data than standard- or high-definition streams).
If so, applaud, as there are some troubleshooting solutions for subpar Internet connections.
First, there are common troubleshooting fixes for slow Wi-Fi that you can try. We already have a comprehensive guide to speeding up your internet, so we won’t go into the specifics in this post, but here are some quick pointers:
Run an internet speed test (should be enough to stream anything above 5 Mbps).
Try logging out of Disney+ and back again on all devices (especially if you’ve shared your password).
Refresh your modem by removing the power supply and letting it rest for 5 minutes before reconnecting.
Consider disconnecting bandwidth-hogging devices from your home Wi-Fi (such as video game consoles).
Try clearing your browser’s cache (if you’re streaming to a web browser).
Log in to your Wi-Fi router settings and check for firmware updates.

Disney+ Error 73

Members reporting error code 73 are reporting location and availability issues. This seems to be affecting customers who are trying to stream Disney+ in countries where it is already available.
First, it’s important to note that this could be a content availability issue. Content availability varies between countries.
If you’re getting error 73, the first step would be to refresh your network connection by rebooting your modem if you’re on a home network or by turning Airplane Mode on and off again if you’re on. The Internet connection must be reset. a mobile device.
If that doesn’t do the trick, it would be worth checking if you are browsing from another country using a VPN app or browser plugin.
Follow these steps to try to diagnose the problem with your location:
Check if the title is available in your country by searching for the title on Disney+.
Reset your Wi-Fi modem or mobile network connection (wait for 30 to 60 seconds before reconnecting).
Check where you are currently browsing by using the IP address lookup tool.
